Steel and timber construction, with a mix of celebrities and just a hint of glitter! The main stage, scenery and set installation of the final show of the previous series of Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway – featuring Katherine Jenkins and James Nesbitt – was built over the existing swimming pools on deck of P&O’s Britannia.
Designed by Patrick Doherty for ITV and pre-built by RS Sets in collaboration with Frosts Scenery and AAJ Sankey Construction, the set was loaded by crane at Southampton and installed by RS Sets and AAJ Sankey Construction at sea before the show was filmed in port at Barcelona in April 2016.
